Relevant Introduction
After the gates of the underworld close in the 7th lunar month,the Huguo Chenghuang Temple holds the annual City God Cultural Festival. According to traditional Taiwanese folk beliefs, mischievous spirits may linger in the human world and refuse to return to the afterlife.
The City God, accompanied by divine generals aboard ceremonial boats, patrols Keelung Harbor to drive away these wandering spirits, invite blessings and ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
